If you are thinking to choose singing as your full-time career and wish to become a professional singer then you should be aware of the fact that there are thousands of other people who are having the same career choices as you. Accept the truth that you are not alone and will have to face a lot of tough competition in the journey of becoming a successful singer and to get established in the music industry.
As I said above that you will have to face a lot of competition so is a must to have a personality that makes you shine brighter than others in your competition.
When someone books a Singer for a house party in Delhi he/she looks for an ‘x-factor’ in a singer that makes him/her special and better form the rest. By the ‘x-factor’ I mean that a singer should have some trait that makes him/her unique. It can be the way a singer presents himself/herself on the stage. The kind of presence a singer has is a very important factor that tells a lot about them. With all the information you can easily conclude that it is very essential to have a unique stage presence. To add a little charisma to your stage presence you can use different personality traits that can be your humor, the way you walk or you can wear a quirky costume and make it a part of your every concert or performance. For example, we all know about the American DJ, ‘Marshmello’ who wears a costume helmet with cute eyes that look like a cartoon marshmallow. This costume of his became his new stage identity.
With this, you might have got an idea that how important it is to have a unique stage presence. After the importance, now I will tell you about some way or techniques that will help you to build a charismatic and a very unique personality.
SWOT Analysis: This technique is among the easiest ways to find out what are your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Once you get to know about your areas of strengths then you can easily use them to improve your personality and you can also use some of your traits (that are your strengths) and include them in your stage presence. This will definitely help you to improve your stage persona.
On the stage: One of the major mistakes that a singer can make is sticking to the same position/spot for the entire performance. But if you want to make a mark with your performance then learn to own the stage. Take the authority of the stage. As most of the events will have huge stages, try to cover most of it and for that, you can go and interact with the other band members, do a step or two, jump around. All this will add energy and will also help you to create a connection with the audience and they will remember about the performance for a long time. This indicates that you had a very magical stage presence in that show/concert/event.
Inspire from the experience: Last but not the least, to learn about the details of having a good stage presence there no other better way than to learn it from someone who holds experience in the music industry. You can also hire a professional or book singer online to get classes and professional training to improve your skills.
